Slipknot played an intimate show on the night of Thursday, April 25 at Pappy + Harriet’s in Pioneertown, California, a popular tourist destination near Joshua Tree National Park in San Bernardino County. The show, which served as a warm-up for the band’s performance at the Sick New World festival in Las Vegas, Nevada this weekend, marked Slipknot’s first appearance with the group’s new drummer, former Sepultura drummer Eloy Big house.
For the show at Pappy + Harriet’s, Slipknot adopted a classic look, bringing back their 1999 red jumpsuits and elements of their old masks into their modern versions, in keeping with the fact that Slipknot celebrates its 25th anniversary this year .
Singer Corey Taylor said on stage mid-performance: “Tonight it doesn’t matter where you’re from, it doesn’t matter when you were born. This year it’s 19 and damn. We’re going to play some songs from before.” year, but man, it all started in ’99 and it’s going to start again here tonight.”
The mystery of who would be Slipknot’s new drummer seems to be over and as many already imagined, Eloy Casagrande appears to be the new owner of Slipknot’s drumsticks.
After a quick and inexplicable departure from Sepultura in February this year, Eloy Casagrande was seen as the music market’s biggest bet to become Slipknot’s new drummer.
Slipknot have also posted some clues about the future drummer on social media, playing on fans’ imaginations. In early March, the band’s official profile posted a photo of a broken drumstick, and fans immediately recognized Eloy’s favorite model.
