OR Rock in Riomusic festival whose tenth edition takes place from 13 to 15 and from 19 to 22 September in Rio de Janeiro, will have a day of programming with only Brazilian artists: Saturday 21 September, when 73 attractions will already be confirmed, distributed in 14 genres or musical styles.
It will be the first time that country music artists will perform at the festival which, although since the first edition has not been limited to rock, has become famous for offering international attractions to this genre and until now had never given space to what is today the most popular style felt by the country.
The main attraction of the country will be the duo Chitaozinho and Xororobut he will also perform Ana Castela, Luan Santana, Simone Mendes, Junior (son of Xororó) and the Heliopolis Orchestra. The shows will take place on Palco Mundo.
On the same stage there will be rock (represented by Capital Inicial, Detonautas, NX Zero, Pitty, Rogério Flausino and Toni Garrido), MPB (Carlinhos Brown, Daniela Mercury, Majur, Margareth Menezes and Ney Matogrosso) and trap (Cbelinho, Felipe Ret , Kayblack, Matuê, Orochi, Ryan SP and Veigh).
OR Brazil Day it was announced on Monday 29th, during a press event in Cidade das Artes, in Rio de Janeiro. Each beat or style will have, in total, about an hour and a half of performances, and each attraction will sing about three songs, according to the organization.
“When Rock in Rio started I wanted to bring all the tribes together. So we are repeating it with Brazilian music. Country music, pop, rock, trap, bossa nova. One will invite the other. It’s very exciting. You will see this at Rock In Rio it’s going to be a really exciting day,” he said Roberto Medinathe creator of the festival, which celebrates 40 years in the September edition (although there are still four months left to complete the four decades, since the first edition took place from 11 to 20 January 1985).
The song was also announced during the event Let your heart speakcomposed by Zé Ricardo, curator of the festival, for this edition of Rock in Rio.
The clip featured artists such as Ivete Sangalo, Iza, Ludmilla, Alcione, Mart’nália, Daniela Mercury and Rael. The proceeds from the copyright of the music will be donated to a philanthropic project which, in collaboration with the entities Ação da Cidade and Gerando Falcões and the support of the Rock in Rio sponsors, intends to transform Brazilian favelas through the Favela 3 D project ( Digital, Dignified and developed).
The first to be supported will be the Morro da Providência favela, in the center of Rio, where 250 families will be served.
International attractions at Rock in Rio 2024
Among the international artists already confirmed for the 2024 edition are Akon, 21 Savage, Travis Scott, Katy Perry, NE-YO, Shawn Mendes, Mariah Carey, Gloria Gaynor, Ed Sheeran, Charlie Puth, Tyla and Joss Stone.
Ticket sales for Rock in Rio 2024 will begin on May 23, through the Ticket Master Brasil website.
