The drummer’s mother Eloy Casagrande, Lidia Casagrandetook advantage of the post announcing the musician as a member of the band Sliding knot, created on the group’s official Instagram profile, to leave an emotional message for his son. After rumors that Eloy would be the new drummer, Slipknot confirmed the news with a photo of the Brazilian dressed in the red tracksuit and mask this Tuesday 30th.
“My son, I have a film in my head right now,” Lidia began. “How much study, dedication, concentration, discipline. How much struggle, results, determination, perseverance, continuous learning.”
Lidia said that Eloy really dreamed of being part of the band one day. “The world awaits you with its divine music. What an emotion. My heart explodes with joy, with tears, with total adrenaline. I don’t even know how to define the mix of feelings I feel, but it’s all very intense, strong and happy” , he said.
The drummer’s mother wished her son to “fly high” and, finally, congratulated the musician. “The sky, for you, has never had a limit. Your music is of total love, of infinite greatness, because you always play with your heart and soul. Your dedication is total. […] Thank you always for everything, I love you more than infinity,” he wrote.
Eloy also celebrated the announcement on Tuesday. “A very emotional moment. Unthinkable until then. […] See you on the road, my Slipknotos,” he wrote, also in an Instagram post.
Rumors that the Brazilian would be the new member of the group began to gain strength after the band’s performance at the Pappy + Harriet bar in the United States on the 25th. The show was the first with the current drummer.
Eloy became known as the drummer for Sepultura, the country’s biggest heavy metal band, which he joined in 2011, at the age of 20. The announcement of the musician’s departure shortly before the band’s farewell tour caught fans and even the group by surprise in February.
