How to get there, where to eat and what to do in Rio de Janeiro during the weekend of the singer’s historic show on Copacabana beach
Madonna is about to perform a historic show at the Rio de Janeiro. He goes up to the stage set up on the Copacabana Beach this Saturday, 4th, to present what should be the closing of The celebration tourtour to celebrate his 40-year career.
The structure is grandiose: 270 tons of equipment form an 821 m2 stage, raised 2.4 m from the ground. There will be 16 towers and at least 8 screens in the single passage of the Celebration throughout South America The presentation, which is expected to last approximately two hours, will begin at 9:45 p.m.
It will be the queen of pop’s fourth time in Brazil. Madonna’s most recent show in the country was in 2012, during her tour MDNA Tour. Previously, she performed in the country in 1993, with The girls’ showand 2008, with Sticky and sweet.
The artist, on Brazilian soil from Monday 29th, will retrace his countless eras during the performance. The expectation is that the Rio show will follow the pattern of the others Celebrationwith around 30 songs divided into acts.
In the first, hosted by master of ceremonies Bob the Drag Queen, Madonna must appear in a costume that resembles the image of a saint to sing hits like Nothing really matters AND Vacation. Subsequently he will have to pay homage to the victims of AIDS with the sound of Live to tell.
Other hits that should be in the setlist are Eroticism, Vogue, L’Isla Bonita AND Like a prayer. It must end with Bitch, I’m Madonna AND Celebration. See songs that could be in the show here.

How to get?
The scheme prepared by the Municipality for Rio transport will be similar to that of New Year’s Eve. The metro will have additional trains and will run until 4 am, but exceptions are made at some stations. Line 1 will operate normally, while Line 2 will operate directly from Pavuna, in the north, to General Osório station, in Ipanema.
Those going to the show are advised to get off at Siqueira Campos station. On Saturday the Cardeal Arcoverde will open only for disembarkations starting from 4.00 pm. The fare on the Rio metro is R$7.50: we recommend purchasing your ticket in advance or using contactless payment to board.
From 6pm to 7.30pm, only buses and taxis will be allowed to travel in Copacabana. The municipality created the exclusive Gentileza x Madonna line, which runs from Terminal Gentileza to the show venue, passing through the Aterro do Flamengo.
Departures start at 1pm and, until 7.30pm, the return will be at Avenida Princesa Isabel 186, near McDonald’s. Afterwards, the disembarkation point will be at Botafogo Cove. The round-trip fare will be R$8.60. Find out more about the show day transport scheme here.
