Unofficial recordings and notebooks with lyrics constitute unpublished material, according to the artist’s widower; the new song will be released in May
Again this May, Roberto de Carvalho will release the first song from Rita Lee, a year after the death of the artist (and love of his life). And more songs will come.
The information was published by Roberto de Carvalhoon his Instagram account, sharing an interview with PiauĂ magazine.
“I’m still discovering what she left behind. There’s a lot of stuff. The other day I found a notebook full of it,” Carvalho said of Rita Lee’s unreleased lyrics.
Among the non-musical texts on which Carvalho will work is Egopublished by Rita in the book Rita Lee: An Autobiography (2016).
At a certain point in the text Rita had written: “Of the God that I doubted, the yes / Of the deaths that I experienced, the afterlife / Of the vices that I became hostage / Of the animals that I am, feline / In the old woman that I am, girl “
“I love these verses,” Carvalho said.
According to the widower, in Rita’s collection there are, in addition to a notebook with unpublished lyrics, also unofficial recordings, cassette tape tests and leftovers.
In addition to this raw material, Rita Lee had worked on the project Bossa n’Film, which ultimately was not carried forward. Three songs from the project were recorded, two of which received vocal recording by Rita.
It is one of these that will be released in May, after the screening of a new clip on Globo’s Fantástico. The release date has not yet been confirmed.
