The mayor of Rio de Janeiro was outraged when he realized that two shows had been announced days before the elections
Eduardo Paes has revealed he is willing to talk to Live Nation to resolve the impasse over Bruno Mars shows. On the morning of this Thursday the 9th, the mayor of Rio de Janeiro declared that he had not authorized the holding of any show in the city on the previously announced dates, due to the municipal elections, scheduled for October 6th.
The mayor said he was outraged when he discovered that one of the American singer’s shows in the city had already been sold and the tickets were sold out. “Is it serious that that guy announces a big show without having the approval of the city hall? Did no one from the city council authorize it? No! On the contrary. I personally denied it when they announced it. I also have a printout of the conversation,” he said in an interview given to GShow,
“Really brave. When I saw Tuesday 7th they had already sold. The straw that broke the camel’s back was when they announced another show on the 5th. They were trying to create a fait accompli. Total abuse. TRE itself will speak out,” he said. completed.

Despite the confusion, the mayor was willing to find a new date for the presentation of Mars in the Wonderful City. “After the elections. First there’s Rock in Rio. The guy will stay in Brazil for about 15 days.” According to him, this Thursday the 9th, at 6 pm, there will be a meeting with the producer of the event to resolve the impasse.
On his social networks, Paes also spoke about the case: “Here there is respect for the citizens and the electoral process. And there is also command. It is no man’s land. I am sure that Bruno Mars will come to Rio for the joy of his many fans. Only at the right time.”

Bruno Mars will perform a series of shows in Brazil in October, in the cities of Sao Paulo, Brasilia and Rio de Janeiro. The artist’s performance in Rio de Janeiro was scheduled for October 4 and tickets were sold out. A new show was then announced, scheduled for October 5th. Ticket presales for this second event would have started this Thursday 9th, but with the mayor’s veto they were postponed, without any new date scheduled.
