Molejo members are prohibited from using the group’s name, the editorialist says

The musicians were notified by the company owned by Anderson Leonardo’s heirs, which holds the rights to use the brand

Members of Molejo were reportedly barred from using the group’s trademark pagodas after a scam with the heirs of Anderson Leonardo (1972-2024). The information was published this Thursday (6/6) by columnist Fábia Oliveira.

The confusion apparently began after the musicians communicated to the company Molejo Produções and Eventos Eireli that they were no longer interested in being managed by the group of the former singer’s heirs. In the document they specify that they will continue to respect the contract until the established date, and subsequently the expected commitments would be covered by another administration.

However, the heirs sent a counter-notification to the members of the group (Andrezinho, Claumirzinho, Lúcio Nascimento, Robson Calazans and Jimmy Batera) raising some points, such as the fact that they cannot use the Molejo trademark, which is registered with the INPI (Institute National Industrial Property) of Anderson Leonardo’s company, in exhibitions not programmed by the company.

Despite the information, the group continues to perform throughout Brazil as Molejo, a brand already known by pagodeiros fans. The company of Anderson’s heirs reiterates that the gesture is illegal and is causing damage to the family, which is going through mourning and economic difficulties.

The company has released an official statement, informing that Molejo artists have 24 hours to adopt another brand in performances that have not been negotiated by them. If the order is not respected, the heirs have also said that they will be able to take legal action to take other measures.
