This year the awards paid a special tribute to the eternal singer Tim Maia with more than 20 artists performing his hits
The 31st edition of the Brazilian Music Awards celebrated the best names in the music industry at the Theatro Municipal in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday (6/12). This year’s event paid homage to Tim Maia (1942-1998) with unprecedented performances by more than 20 artists performing his hits.
Highlights include singer Xande de Pilares, who won awards in the Performer and Samba Release categories, and the collective Choro na Rua, who also won two awards in the Revelation and Instrumental Group categories.
In addition to them, the award highlighted the successes of the singer Iza (best performer of urban music), Marisa Monte (best performer of pop rock), Ana Castela (Lançamento Sertanejo), as well as Anitta (Lançamento Estrangeira), who is enjoying success with his international project “Funk Generation”.
