Iconic vocalist and one of the guitarists of the American rock band Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder revealed some details of an illness, described as a “near-death experience,” that affected several members of the group.
It is worth remembering how, in recent weeks, Pearl Jam canceled shows in London and Berlin for health reasons. Last Saturday, the 6th, the band was performing live in Barcelona, where Vedder talked a little about the recent hardships.
“I can just say that last week it almost felt like a near-death experience. It was very uncomfortable and it got scary,” he said. “It felt like bronchitis in the chest. It felt like you might not be able to breathe, you might not be able to get through the night, and you might have to go to the hospital.”
The singer then revealed how the disease has affected “some” of those on tour. “You realize how precious this life is. How lucky we are to live on a planet where we can go out and play music for amazing people like the people in this room tonight,” he said. Eddie Vedder.
So, it was a moving experience. I won’t forget it anytime soon. And we won’t forget this night anytime soon.
