Rolling Stones: Documentary Series Celebrates Band’s 60th Anniversary; meet

Titled My Life As A Rolling Stone, the series will feature an episode about each member of the Rolling Stones.

The 60th Anniversary of the Rolling Stones will be celebrated with a special documentary series produced by the BBC, as well as a radio show featuring exclusive interviews with the band’s members.

According to NME, the four episode series My Life As A Rolling Stone airs on BBC and iPlayer later this year, with an hour-long episode for each of the musicians: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood and Charlie Watts.

The production will show new interviews – except for Watts, who passed away in the last year – in addition to never-before-seen scenes that form an “intimate portrait” in which the members reflect on their career. While in the episode wattsthere will be archival interviews and testimonials from the musicians in tribute to the drummer.

The episodes also feature special guest appearances by fans of the Rolling Stoneshow PP Arnold, Chrissie Hynde, Slash, Rod Stewart, Tina Turner and Steven Tyler. The series is produced by Mercury Studios for the BBC and also includes footage from past performances mixed with interviews.

The entrepreneur of Rolling Stones, Joyce Smithsaid in a statement: “We are thrilled to celebrate 60 years of Rolling Stones with these four films that give fans around the world a fascinating new look at the band.”

In addition to the documentary series, the band also produced a two-hour audio documentary entitled Rolling With The Stones for BBC Radio 2, which also debuts later this year.
