Kesha vows to ‘change the world’ after court battle with Dr. Luke ends

The singer released her first single as an independent artist in early July.

Kesha is ready to move on. She released her first single, “Joyride,” as an independent artist earlier this month, after parting ways with RCA Records and creating Kesha Records.

In 2014, the singer accused the producer Dr. Luke of drugging and raping her at a party in 2005. The producer denied the allegations of sexual, physical and emotional abuse. Part of the lawsuit was dismissed because it was seen as too old.

Kesha and the musician reached an agreement in 2023 — and now she promises to “change the world”. The owner of the hit “TiK ToK” gave advice to people going through the same situation in an interview with Forbes (via People), stating that they should “get a good lawyer.”

“I started my own record label and I’m coming to change the world, baby, so hold on tight,” she said. She also encouraged fellow artists to “keep writing,” even in difficult times.

“It sucks that in this country you can lose the right to your voice, but you will never lose the right to your truth — and the truth will set you free,” he continued. “I’m working hard to change everything I can in this world so that this doesn’t happen to anyone else.”

Kesha also spoke about her new single, declaring that she is happy with the reception of “Joyride” by listeners: “I feel free for the first time since I was 18, so I appreciate every single person who played the song and I love the videos they are making.”

“I spent almost 10 years on a lawsuit and spent millions of dollars in legal fees,” he added.
