Slash Announces Stepdaughter’s Death, Cancels Shows

Slash, the legendary Guns N’ Roses guitarist, has announced a tragic family loss: his stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, died at the age of 25 last Friday (19). Due to this situation, the 58-year-old musician has suspended four dates of his solo tour, SERPENT Tour, to deal with the grief.

The news was shared by Slash on his Instagram profile this Monday morning (22), where he expressed his grief at the loss of Lucy-Bleu, whom he described as a “an incredibly talented artist, a passionate dreamer and a charming, kind and sweet soul”.

Born on December 6, 1998, Lucy-Bleu was the daughter of Meegan Hodges and Mark Knight, stepdaughter of Samantha Somers Knight and Slash, and sister of Scarlet Knight, and half-sister of London and Cash Hudson. She passed away peacefully in Los Angeles on July 19, 2024.

Meegan Hodges, Lucy’s mother, also shared the same statement on her Instagram, accompanied by the words “I love you”. Lucy-Bleu had a significant social media presence, with 35,000 followers on Instagram, and worked at Electric Lady Management, a talent arm of a recording studio.

Slash’s Personal Life

Lucy-Bleu’s cause of death has not yet been announced. Slash, who began his relationship with Meegan Hodges in 1989 and rekindled their romance in 2015, has put part of his tour on hold due to “unforeseen circumstances.” He has promised to resume the tour in Toronto on July 28, 2024.

Several friends and colleagues in the music industry have expressed their condolences on social media. Viola, daughter of Dave Grohlcommented: “My heart beats for you. All the love to your family now”.

FleaRed Hot Chili Peppers bassist, wrote: “Man, God bless you”. Susan, wife of Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, also sent her condolences: “Words cannot express our deepest sympathy and condolences. I love you all so much.”

The family has asked for privacy at this difficult time and requests that speculation on social media be avoided as they deal with this devastating loss.

Slash first married model and actress Renée Suran on October 10, 1992, in a beachside ceremony in Marina del Rey, California. They had been together for three years before making their union official.

However, the relationship was always tumultuous, mainly due to Slash’s constant touring with Guns N’ Roses and his infidelity while on tour.

Renée also faced frustrations with her career, which contributed to straining her marriage. Slash revealed that he got married mainly because of Renée’s pressure and feeling lonely, but admitted that he never truly loved her.
