Last Monday (22), the Anglo-American rock band The Pretenders announced new dates for their 2024 UK tour.
It is worth noting that these additional shows are part of a series of previously announced dates that were due to take place in February and March, but have been moved to later in the year, after Chrissie Hynde suffer a knee injury.
They will now run throughout October, with existing tickets remaining valid for the rescheduled shows.
According to the NME website, the band continues with a full schedule. They are opening the show Foo Fighters on some dates of his American tour’All or nothing‘ and will perform at the Isle of Wight Festival 2024.
Singer Hynde recently praised Taylor Swift after attending one of her “Eras Tour” shows.
“I saw Taylor Swift (you may have heard of her) in concert the other day. She just shows what a girl can do with a guitar. The last time I enjoyed a concert this much was Aldous Harding. You remember I was so excited about that.”he has declared.
“So if you haven’t already, go out and buy a guitar. You’ll never be alone again as long as you have it by your side. See you soon!”he concluded.
It is worth mentioning that the presentations will be held in October and November. Most of the presentations are already sold out.
The Pretenders Release New Single “A Love”
Last week, the Anglo-American rock band The Pretenders released their new single Lovewhich is part of the group’s new and long-awaited album, InflexibleComing out September 15, 2023 WarnerMusicthrough Parlophone Records.
Love achieves an immediate sense of classicism from Pretenderslike the raw and emotional lyrics of the composer and singer Chrissie Hynde is driven by the band’s sonic signature.
About the single Love she states: “I think this is the most traditional-sounding song on the album, very much in the vein of ‘Kid’ or ‘Talk of the Town.'”
The new track comes after a surprise performance by the group at the festival Glastonburyto the UKwith special guests Johnny Marr and Dave Grohl. The British newspaper The telegraph described the track as “an emotional, rocking, melodious and attitude-filled surprise set at the Park Stage”, while the Subway declared: “The Pretenders really blew fans away.”
