Currently in residence in Las Vegas, the British rock star spoke about the end of his life and the importance of drinking water between martinis after his shows
Rod Stewart spoke frankly about the end of his career and his life. In an interview published last Friday (26) in The Sunthe 79-year-old singer, currently in the midst of a final residency at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas, revealed that he is at peace with the prospect of getting older and, ultimately, the end of his days.
“I know my days are numbered but I’m not afraid,” the Briton said. “We all have to die at some point so we’re all in the same boat. I’m going to make the most of these last few years I have left. They’re not many – probably another 15. I can do that easily.”
Reflecting on the wild life of a rock star, Stewart admits he can no longer keep up the same pace he once did: “I’m not like I was in the ’70s and ’80s, when I could stay up all night, drink a lot and still keep my voice – these days I have to take care of my voice before and after every show.”

Still, Stewart, who battled and beat prostate cancer late last decade, admits he allows himself a little partying and a couple of martinis after every performance — and of course, he stays hydrated:
“The older you get, the more you need to take care of yourself. Water has a lot to do with it. But you don’t think I have nothing but water on the shelf, do you?! You’re talking to Rod Stewart here, man!”
