The Canadian singer has some surprises in store for his performance in Sao Paulo next month
The Weeknd is preparing news for his Brazilian fans. A month before his show at Estádio Morumbi, in São Paulo, the Canadian artist has published an enigmatic video on his social networks, giving a generous preview of what appears to be a new song – or two related vignettes. Accompanying the musical recording, an animated video, published this Tuesday (8/6), presents clues about the singer’s new era.
Video elements
In the release titled “Unprepared Certainty…”, The Weeknd alludes to his childhood, growth, and artistic journey. A child appears entering a haunted-looking house and discovers several mysterious elements. During this journey, she comes across several projections of herself in mirrors, revisiting different stages of her life, while the darkness invades her. The final scenes also hint at the singer’s relationship with his mother and religion.
Expectations for the show
The Weeknd’s show at Morumbi is the only one currently on the singer’s schedule. Fans are expecting a megastructure and are speculating ahead of the event about the release of new songs or even a new album. The artist was last in Brazil in October last year, with his “After Hours Til Dawn” tour, which touched Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. The new show is expected to be different.
