During an interview with Complexthe singer recalled the day he met McCartney in person at a live show in Hollywood. “I’ve never met him before, but I’m a fan of Beatles. I know that Jimmy [Iovine] knew him, [Dr.] Dre knew him,” he said. “So I was in the back smoking and they were like, ‘Sir Paul would like to meet you.’ I was like, ‘Oh, really? Hang on.'”
When he received the news, Snoop Dogg quickly “put out the joint” out of respect for the iconic artist, responsible for hits like “Here Comes the Sun,” “Hey Jude” and “Let It Be.” However, Paul McCartney made a request to the rapper.
“[Ele] comes into the room and says, ‘Don’t delete that.’ He gives me a hug and finds me, and it’s like, ‘Holy crap. Paul McCartney knows who the hell Snoop Dogg is.'” The interviewer then suggested how Snoop is equally famous.
