Two days ago the start of the edition celebrating 40 years of Rock in Rio, singer Lourena announced the cancellation of her performance at the festival, scheduled for Saturday (14/9). The show will not be able to take place due to health reasons. Singer Lukinhas has already been chosen to replace her.
Health crisis interrupts singer’s plans
According to Lourena’s press office, the artist suffered an asthma attack that evolved into spontaneous pneumomediastinum. “He was trying to recover in time for his performance at Espaço Favela,” the statement explains. However, this Wednesday (9/11), the medical team determined that the singer will need to rest completely.
Lourena’s outburst on social media
The singer took to social media to speak directly to her fans: “My loves, Lourena in the voice. You know my heart and also God. My biggest dream in this life is to be with you, to sing for you, to lift my soul and vibration with so much love and joy. I really wanted to be with you, but this fate affects the most important part of me, which is my breathing.”
Lourena regretted not being able to attend the festival, but left a message of hope: “I really wanted to get better in time to show you what I had prepared with all my heart, but, this time, we will have to wait a little bit.” a little bit to see each other. And this is goodbye to Rock in Rio, see you soon.”
Substitution confirmed at Espaço Favela
Festival organizers confirmed that singer Lukinhas, known for hits like “Aperta Start” and “Posturada,” will take Lourena’s place on the same day and time at Espaço Favela. “I will do everything I can to honor this artist that I admire so much. I am sure that Lourena will improve soon and will have other opportunities to showcase her incredible work at Rock in Rio,” Lukinhas said.
