The Latin Recording Academy announced this Tuesday (17/9) the nominees for the 25th edition of the Latin Grammy Awards, which will celebrate the best names in Latin music and the main works released in the last year. The event will take place on November 14 in Miami, United States.
Brazil has once again made its presence felt in the overall awards rankings with two important nominations, one of which is for singer Anitta, who will try to secure the “Record of the Year” award. The other nomination belongs to singer Xande de Pilares in the “Album of the Year” category, where he will compete with the acclaimed album “Xande Canta Caetano”, in honor of Caetano Veloso.
This year’s top nominees for the awards were Edgar Barrera, who will compete in nine categories, including “Producer of the Year,” followed by Karol G and Bad Bunny, who each received eight nominations. The two are still competing for the top prize of “Album of the Year” along with Xande.
The Academy also announced specific Portuguese language categories, highlighting the participation of Jão, Iza and Luísa Sonza, all with two nominations each. In addition to them, other Brazilians remembered were Ana Castela, Simone Mendes, Luan Santana, Gusttavo Lima, João Gomes, Alcione, Milton Nascimento, as well as the duo Chitãozinho and Xororó.
