The American singer will give advice and perform in Globo’s musical reality show
American singer Katy Perry will participate in the musical reality show “Estrela da Casa”, hosted by Ana Clara Lima. Globo agreed to participate this week, after intense negotiations.
Participation and exhibition
Katy Perry arrived in Brazil this Tuesday (17/9) to perform at Rock in Rio. During her visit, she will record a special appearance for “Estrela da Casa”, which will be broadcast in two episodes. The recordings will take place on Wednesday (18/9). The singer will give advice to the attendees on how to behave in the music market and, shortly, will perform. These moments will also be available on Globoplay.
Negotiation and commercial impact
The deal with Globo was facilitated by the broadcaster’s partnership with Universal Music, Katy Perry’s record label, which will also be responsible for launching the winner of the reality show into the music market. The deal was brokered by Boninho, in one of his last acts as director of the Globo reality show, before his departure at the end of the year.
Program success
With just over a month on the air, “Estrela da Casa” has maintained an average of 12 ratings points in Greater São Paulo and produced a 16% increase in the broadcaster’s advertising revenues in the third quarter of 2024. Despite being overtaken by “Show do Milhão” last Sunday (15), the program regained the audience leadership on Monday (16), surpassing the premiere of “A Fazenda 16”.
