Ed Sheeran watches Fluminense match before Rock in Rio show

The British singer will take to the world stage this Thursday 19th

Fluminense had an illustrious fan on the night of this Wednesday 18th in Brazil for the presentation at Rock in Rio. Ed Sheeran went to the Maracanã stadium to watch the Tricolor das Laranjeiras match against Atlético-MG to the quarterfinals of the Copa Libertadores.

To accompany the duel in style, the British singer was presented with a T-shirt of the current champion of the competition. “Ed Sheeran is Tricolore and I can prove it! What an honor to have you at Maraca, Ed Sheeran!” joked the social profile of the Rio club.

And the artist seemed to like what he saw before the game. He shared a video of the fans’ celebration on Instagram and showed his support: “Let’s go,” he wrote.

Going to Maracanã was one of the first things Ed Sheeran did after arriving in Rio de Janeiro on Wednesday. He had previously even asked his followers for suggestions: “I just arrived in Brazil. I haven’t been here in years. Send me suggestions on things to do, see or eat,” the Englishman posted.

The choice of the match between Fluminense and Atlético-MG was not a coincidence. The singer is passionate about football and recently bought a share of Ipswich Town, his favorite club.

Ed Sheeran will be the main attraction at Rock in Rio on Thursday night, the 19th. On the same day, Charlie Puth, Joss Stone and Jão will take to the World Stage.
