Singers share the fact that they started their career and became successful when they were still a teenager, having to deal with the difficulties of this period in life

Hayley Williams was just 17 years old when the Paramore released his first album, All We Know is Falling (2005). This made the vocalist learn a lot in practice about the positive side and pitfalls of being famous at a young age. Another example of this is Billie Eilishwhich released their debut single, “Ocean Eyes” (2015), at 14.

This shared experience made Williams, now 35, see herself when she looked at Eilish, now 22. In 2023, the Paramore vocalist spoke to SiriusXM (via People) about the first time he came into contact with the young singer’s music and the immediate connection he felt.

Hayley said:

We’ve been talking since she appeared on the music scene. The first thing I saw about her was her video ‘When the Party’s Over’. Then I watched an interview with her and I felt like there was something inside me that was watching me/us as teenagers doing interviews and navigating this world.”

The friendship continued to the point where Hayley spent a Thanksgiving holiday with her family O’Connell. After that day, the connection between the two became even stronger, as Williams states:

She does it on a level that we’ve never experienced, but I feel such a great love about her and her family, I think they’re so special. We’ve already connected, I connected with her mother too, about the organization they have. But since that cinnamon roll snack on Thanksgiving, the rest is history. I feel like I would do anything for them.”

Hayley Williams would go crazy if she were Billie Eilish

In an interview with Rolling Stone USA In 2020, Hayley Williams summarized the way she sees Billie Eilish dealing with her career, a situation similar to the one she experienced with Paramore some time before. She praised the way the artist and her family manage this whirlwind.

If I were Billie Eilish today — and I guarantee she’s on a rocket that’s going much higher than I could have ever dreamed of with Paramore — I’d be crazy. I’m so happy that someone like her, who has a really great, amazing family around her.”

Meetings between artists

On two occasions, the friendship and connection between Hayley Williams and Billie Eilish went from personal to professional. The first time took place in 2022, at the Coachellawhen the Paramore singer took to her friend’s stage for an acoustic version of “Misery Business”success of his band. They also shared the vocals for the hit “Happier Than Ever”by Eilish.

The reunion/retribution took place in 2023, this time with Eilish participating in a Paramore concert in Los Angeles. On the occasion, the youngest singer participated in a version of “All I Wanted” with the band.

A studio partnership has not yet shown signs of happening, but given the connection between the two singers, it could be a matter of time. Billie Eilish released her most recent album this year, Hit Me Hard and Soft. Paramore made their latest work available in 2023, This is Why.
