Artie told:

I was at the Hit Factory. My sound engineer, Shelly Yakusand I were with my musician friends, Hugh McCracken and David Sanbornand all my friends. Suddenly it was 3 am. So I said, ‘guys, let’s take a half hour break.’ I ran to the bathroom like a madman and poured four lines of pharmaceutical cocaine into the back of a urinal.”

The executive continued the report:

I went to the urinal and started smelling the four lines. I felt a warm jet running down my left leg. I looked over my shoulder and saw the head of John Lennon. I knew that John was in the studio next door with Jack Douglas (producer) making the album Double Fantasy (1980). Then he looked at me and said: ‘I can’t see anything without my glasses and I left them in the studio’. Then he asked, ‘who are you?’ and I said, ‘oh, I am Artie Kornfeld‘ and he said, ‘that’s amazing, you’re Artie Kornfeld… I know who you are.’”

“Normal” conversation

The conversation continued normally, who knows how. John Lennon revealed that the first record he bought in his life contained the song “The Pied Piper”recorded by Crispian St. Peters and composed of Artie Kornfeld.

Lennon had an extramarital relationship with May Pangthe couple’s secretary, in the mid-1970s.
