The singer has amassed 49 trophies, surpassing Drake for the most wins
She is gigantic!
Singer Taylor Swift made history Thursday night (12/12) by winning 10 new awards at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards, becoming the most awarded artist in the event’s history. She had been nominated for 17 different categories, including Best Artist and Best Songwriter.
Taylor Swift managed to win the main categories of the event, such as Best Album on the Billboard 200, in which she competed with her recently released album “The Tortured Poets Department”. In total, he amassed 49 trophies, surpassing Drake for the most wins of all time.
“I just want to thank the fans, because Billboard counts your information. They tell you what you listen to, the albums you’re passionate about. And so I consider this a reward for the fans, because you’re the one who takes care of our albums and comes to see us at concerts. […] This is the best early birthday gift you could give me. It’s exactly what I wanted,” Taylor Swift said in a pre-recorded video. The artist turns 35 this Friday (12/13).
Other highlights
Despite losing the lead, Drake won three of the six categories he competed in at the Billboard Awards. Among the awards, he won trophies for Best Rap Artist, Best Male Rap Artist and Best Rap Album, in which he competed with “For All the Dogs”.
Another highlight of the awards was singer Zach Bryan, who received 21 nominations in several categories, but only won five awards at the event, including Best Rock Artist and Best Country Album, in which he competed with an album featuring the same name.
Bad Bunny, Morgan Wallen and Shaboozey also followed closely behind and won three awards each, while artists such as Jung Kook, Benson Boone, Teddy Swims, Tyla and Tommy Richman only received two trophies at the event.
