Gracie Abrams describes the atmosphere behind the scenes of The Eras Tour: ‘it felt like the last day of school’

Gracie Abramsa 25-year-old singer who opened 49 performances of The Ages Tour of Taylor Swiftdescribed the last night of the tour, on December 8 in Vancouver, as an emotionally charged moment. In an interview with Nylonpublished last Tuesday (17), Abrams revealed that the atmosphere behind the scenes felt like “the last day of school”.

Everyone spent the day crying. We were walking backstage with the books from The Eras Toursigning each other’s books. Everyone had pens in their hands.

Seeing someone have the ability, in a stadium, to make it seem like you and they are the only two people there, was extremely important to me.

Abrams, who accompanied Taylor Swift in several shows around the world, declared that the tour was a milestone in her career and personal life. “I am thrilled, grateful, and in shock to know that as a global community we will no longer have this source of light,” she said of the tour’s conclusion.

In addition to opening the shows, Abrams made a point of learning from every detail of Swift’s performances. “I’ve basically been studying the show for a year and a half. I watched everything, even live broadcasts of performances I wasn’t at. I learned from every conversation we had, even about the weather,” revealed.

Abrams also shared that his career took a significant leap after participating in TheEras Tour. In October, she released the single That’s So True and performed again with Swift.

Partnership on stage and new horizons

On the final stretch of the tour, Abrams took the stage alongside Taylor for a special mashup of “Out of the Woods” and “Us”collaboration between the two on the album The Secret of Us by Abrams, during a show in Toronto. The singer, daughter of director JJ Abrams and executive Katie McGrath, highlighted how this partnership and the visibility of the tour impacted her work.

Now, Gracie Abrams is preparing to take the lessons learned during TheEras Tour for the next stage of your career. His North American solo tour is set to begin in July 2025.
