John Dolmayan says he offers his share of the guest list to anyone who is in a “bad situation” financially
THE system of a Down has 14 shows announced for 2025, four of them in Brazil: Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro and a double commitment in São Paulo. Except for the three extra dates in North America, tickets are sold out.
In addition to the extremely high demand, there are fans who could not even buy because they do not have money. Aware of this, the drummer John Dolmayan revealed a really cool action: all the tickets you receive as part of your guest list quota will be donated to those admirers who don’t have the resources to cover the cost of an entry.
The news was confirmed through Instagram. Initially, the musician stated:
“Wherever we go, you are there. In good times, in bad times, in the cold, in the rain, you are shouting and celebrating, it is a lesson in humility. I was also a young fan who waited years for my favorite band to come play in my city. I also saved for months to be able to go. We know how you feel.”
He then confirmed his action in favor of financially less fortunate fans. Making his direct message (DM) box available on Instagram to receive reports from interested parties, he said:
“There are those who cannot afford to see us and may never be in a position to do so. That’s why I’ve decided to donate my personal allotment of guest list tickets to each of the shows we’re having next year. If you are in a bad situation or know someone who is desperate to go to a show but can’t make it, please send me a direct message here.”
Finally, Dolmayan reinforced the intention to benefit the portion of the public that does not have money, not those who only stopped buying because the tickets were quickly sold out. He pointed out:
“This is not for those who didn’t get tickets, I understand your pain, but please respect what I’m doing and don’t ask unless you really can’t set aside the money needed for it. Merry Christmas and happy holidays to all of you.”
