The show “Lady Gaga Todo Mundo no Rio” promises to bring 1 million people together on the Rio seafront
Official authorization and event structure
The City of Rio de Janeiro signed this Tuesday (14/1) the contract to hold Lady Gaga’s megashow on Copacabana beach, scheduled for May 3 at 9pm. The event, titled “Lady Gaga Todo Mundo no Rio”, will have the largest audience of the singer’s career.
According to the newspaper O Globo, it was Bernardo Fellows, head of the events area of the town hall, who signed the document confirming the request of the production company Bonus Track, the same one that organized Madonna’s show in the same location in May last year.
The space dedicated to the event will occupy an area of 28 thousand square meters and will be equipped with giant screens and chemical toilets distributed along the beach. There will be no fireworks during the presentation and it is scheduled to end at 11.30pm.
Record participation expectations
According to information contained in the application approved by the city hall, the event is expected to attract around 1 million people. The presentation will be free and promises to be one of the biggest cultural events of 2025 in Brazil.
He returns to Brazil after more than a decade
The last time Lady Gaga was in the country was in 2012, when she performed shows and took advantage of her stay to explore Rio de Janeiro. On that occasion, the singer visited the Cantagalo favela, drove a motorbike taxi, drank beer in a local bar and even played football with the residents.
The visit to the city was so memorable that Lady Gaga tattooed the name “Rio” on the back of her neck in honor of the experience. “I love the people here,” he declared during his visit 13 years ago.
