The replacement was seen as an affront to Afro-Brazilian religions and generated controversy on social media over the preservation of cultural heritage linked to religious practices involving the orixá Iemanjá.
In a recent interview, Cláudia commented on the case, stating that racism is a serious problem and should be discussed in depth. The singer also reiterated her commitment to values such as respect, solidarity and integrity. “We cannot negotiate these principles or turn them into something to throw at the Internet court,” he said.
Before taking the stage at Virada Salvador, Claudia Leitte gave an interview to Dinho Júnior, addressing the recent controversies.
