An ace on stage and on the fencing field, the singer of Iron Maiden, Bruce Dickinsonparticipated in a sports tournament this Sunday 19th in Fâches-Thumesnil, France. The artist, who has been practicing this sport since childhood, ranked 13th among 31 competitors in the veteran category. The winner of the event was German Hans Martin Raeker.
The singer, a member of the British Olympic fencing team in the 1980s, defeated the Frenchman Pasquale Jolyota former Olympic athlete who won three medals at the games, including a gold medal. “The last time I came here (to Lille), was in 2000 with the Iron Maiden rehearse for the world tour,” the artist told the newspaper La Voix du Nord . “But now I’m here for a fencing competition: a veteran foil for old people, like me.”
