The band performed in Mumbai last weekend
Chris Martinfrom Coldplaythanked fans for something unexpected. The British band performed in Mumbai, India last weekend as part of their world tour Music of Spheres.
During the show, the vocalist said: “This is our fourth visit to India and the second time we have played here. The first time, we played a long show and we couldn’t have asked for a better crowd. Thank you for coming today!”
“Thank you for having us, even though we are from the UK. Thank you for forgiving us for all the bad things the UK has done,” he continued.
Martin made reference to the years when India was under the rule of the United Kingdom, between 1858 and 1947. Watch the moment he thanks his fans:

The speech of Martin divided opinions. In the comments on the post above, one internet user wrote: “Chris healing intergenerational trauma with a microphone, a stage and some music.” Another, however, said: “Okay, but when do we forgive them?”
