The jury unanimously decided that the director has not stolen elements of The Truth About Emanuel by Francesca Gregorini for the 2019 series
The director and screenwriter M. Night Shyamalan was considered innocent in the process filed against him for alleged plagiarism due to the series Servant (2019), from Apple TV+After a unanimous decision of the jury in favor of him. The cause was presented in 2020 by the Italian Director Francesca Gregoriniwho accused him of having stolen elements of his film The truth about Emanuel (2013), with Jessica Biel.
The case was the trial on Friday 24, and the director was in the witness bank who defended himself from the accusations of Gregorini. “This accusation is exactly the opposite of everything I do and everything I try to represent,” said the court. “I would never have allowed it. None of the people I work with something like that.”
The jury, in turn, saw three episodes of the series, in addition to seeing the entire feature film in full Apple TV+.
