Reflection on the past and on the present

Madonna used her social networks on Thursday (30/1) to criticize Donald Trump’s government and reflect on changes in the United States over the decades.

The singer saved a photo of his early years in New York and commented on the initial phase of his career. “Here I am, a young woman full of purpose and many dreams,” he wrote on Instagram.

He described the city as a stimulating and unpredictable environment. “It was my first year to live in New York, a dangerous place that promised me and nothing,” he added.

Comparing time with the present day, Madonna vented himself: “I had no idea that one day I would have lived here at a time when fascism would become trivial and regulatory”.

Repercussion between fans

The publication received support from the followers, who praised the artist’s position. “The first artist really talks about the current situation. You are so necessary,” commented a fan. Another admirer has strengthened the message of resistance: “We shouldn’t get used to it. Please, remain the light. Light is the only way in which people will understand and see the darkness”.

Criticism of the Trump government

Wednesday (29/1), Madonna had already spoken against Trump’s policies, classifying the anti-Lgbtqia+ actions of his management as a setback. “It is so sad to see our new government slowly dismantling all the freedoms we have won with fights over the years. Don’t give up the fight!”
