Then I had a greater friendship with him because my girlfriend’s mother was a friend of Cazuza’s mother. He was going to take a picture there for Bizz magazine. The boyfriend of my girlfriend’s mother was a photographer, we made the famous photo of the boots, where he wears my boot. ”

Still during the video, Supla quotes the music “Not everything is true”composed in partnership with Cazuza. The track entered its first namesake album, homonymous, released in 1989.

In the book SUPLA: Chronicles and photos of the Brazilian charade (2015) (via Wiplash), he gives more details about the song and his bond with former Baron Red singer, whom he defines as a “rock and roll” subject and “no popes in his tongue”.

“I immediately liked him [de Cazuza]. He was rock and roll. There were no popes in his tongue, he said what came in the head. He was not ashamed to be what he was. And I have always sought it out, since the beginning of my career, as in the lyrics of ‘Humans’. They want to force me to be the way they are, full of certainties and living with illusion. Cazuza expressed this a lot! Some time later, we made a song together, ‘Not everything is true’which is on my first solo album and even won video on Fantástico. ‘I see Brazil of the plane, it’s all green, it’s all in vain…’ ”

In recalling the creative development of “Not everything is true”the vocalist of real name Eduardo Smith de Vasconcellos Suplicy score:

“The composition process was at a distance. We talked by phone, exchanged ideas and he sent me some parts of the lyrics. The contents of the lyrics mixed the bid of coming from a rich family with the fact that it was aware of what happened around us. Quite different from ‘Oh, I’m fine, damn the others’ … the lyrics were a visualization of what happened in Brazil. ”

Listen to “not everything is true” in the player below (from 27min07sec). Following, check out the lyrics.

“The life of the motorcycle, poles and deaths
In the sun, in the sea, in the house that went home
From here I see everything, everything is close, close to ending
Future? Oil? The world is not going well
The luxury garbage uses the flag, only thinks of itself
And in no one else
Stars, models, don’t leave me alone
Fear only exists that desire runs a lot, much more
It is real, does not take evil, life can be bad
I’m happy, but the slums were not born
Like a Yuppie Quiz

I see Brazil of the plane, it’s all green, it’s all in vain
Baby believe in the heart, I already told you
Not everything is true

In the car rockers look at the rearview mirror
The red law bothers
Setting up because it is superior
Enemies and friends are under discussion
It’s our lives, our dreams
Cannot be illusion

I see Brazil of the plane, it’s all green, it’s all in vain
Baby believe in the heart, I already told you
Not everything is true ”
