Shirley Manson criticizes machismo and war against women in new single, part of the album Let All That We Imagine Be The Light, which comes out on May 30
THE Grubby is back with a new and angry track: “Get Out My Face Aka Bad Kitty”.
The song is the newest single from the album Let all that we imagine be the lightwith launch scheduled for May 30. With a dense beat and dark atmosphere, the group led by Shirley Manson He fires against a toxic character – and the warfare war for women in the US.
“You don’t respect us? So I’ll make you fear,” warns Manson in the explosive chorus. In other verses, she sings: “You have your giant dick / We are just fish / but every wave washes everything.” The track mixes groove tense, threatening guitars and melancholy soil at the end.
In a statement, the vocalist deepens the context of the track:
When we are young, we do not realize how the game works. But over time, we begin to see the board clearly, and how it is manipulated against many of us. ”
She also stated that she was angry at the treatment given to women, blacks, LGBTQia+ and minorities in the United States, and positioned themselves against the withdrawal of women’s basic rights:
We are being pushed back to the Middle Ages. It’s revolting and scary, and I can’t be silent anymore. ”
Despite the combative tone of the track, Manson guarantees that the album also brings moments of hope:
I was determined to find a more optimistic world to dive. ”
