When Marvel Studios brought part of his next list to San Diego Comic-Con a captivating presentation in Hall H countless fans have wondered what the ending will be like black Panther star Chadwick Boseman would be honored in the pending sequel material. The trailer released it has a dark tone and a mural of Boseman’s heroic character, T’Challa, can be seen briefly. But the trailer continues to create the biggest beats in history found in Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, including the introduction of Namor the diver (played by Tenoch Huerta) and a conflict between Wakanda and the Atlanteans. This is not to say that Boseman’s absence was not felt in wakanda forever together, and black Panther Co-star Winston Duke had a lot to say to Gossipify about his late colleague.
Chadwick Boseman had been ill for years before finally succumbing to colon cancer in 2020 . The loss of him left a hole in the film industry and the Black Panther franchise figured out how to move forward without his face. We do not know yet who will wear the black panther costume when Ryan Cogle Black Panther: Wakanda forever will be released in theaters in November, but we have a better idea of the difficulties of shooting the sequel without Boseman. Winston Duke spoke to Gossipify during San Diego Comic-Con and discussed life at Marvel after Boseman’s death, explaining:
The first week (on) the shelf was truly shocking. Not having Chadwick there, personally, was incredibly deep and very powerful. He is one of those people who never needed a lot of attention. So when he’s very present, he never takes up much space. But all his seriousness had no limits. You know what I mean ? He was everywhere. So not having that person there, physically, was a huge hole, and we suffered a lot on set, to be honest with you.
Very few franchises have lost their main cast while the show was still thriving. The actors have been replaced and the stories have faded. But the Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to be a monster and Ryan Coogler’s Black Panther continues to be named one of the best voices in the entire canon, with Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa earning himself the superhero nickname, the MCU’s favorite for countless fans. The loss of the actor was huge, for many reasons. He was so young. I still had a lot to contribute, creatively . It could be said that she was just getting started, having earned industry respect for playing Jackie Robinson (42), James Brown (Get up) and a major role in Spike Lee’s Gives 5 blood. His professional future was so bright.
