List includes albums made by some of the biggest rock and metal bands in history, as well as less known, albeit interesting works
Want to guarantee permanent access to a song or an album? Buywhether in physical media or paid download file. Streaming platforms as Spotify, Deezer, Apple Music, Amazon Music And the like have a huge catalog – the first mentioned has over 50 million tracks, for example – but a simple change in records with record label, publisher or artist can cause records to get out of the airtemporary or definitely.
The following list compiles a series of good albums of rock and metal released by known bands that cannot be heard through Spotify. Some of them have never been in the catalog of the largest global music streaming platform; Others remained available for a while until they are removed, there is known for what reason. All are available somehow on Youtube, but through the fan initiative.

7 good rock and metal records that are not in Spotify
Judas Priest – JUGULATOR (1997)
This is the most emblematic case on the list, as it has already been publicly commented on by more than one part involved and follows without solution. The two albums recorded by Judas Priestone of the biggest names in the history of heavy metal, with the vocalist Tim “Ripper” Owensmember between 1996 and 2003, are not in Spotify or any other platform, nor in physical formats. They are: Jugulator (1997), the best, and Demolition (2001). Both bring a heavier facet of the group, which had been rediscovered in Paingiller (1990) by exploring thrash/speed metal influences.
In an interview with Mitch Lafon, the bassist and only remaining founding member, Ian Hill, said that “it must be for something contractual with the current label (Sony) and whoever has the rights.” Ripper insists that they try to erase their story with the group and said, in an interview with Marcelo Vieira for the Igor Miranda website, that Hill is lying, because both works are present in the box 50 HEAVY METAL YEARS OF MUSIC (2021).
Badlands – Badlands (1989)
In the late 1980s, a hard rock supergroup joined the guitarist Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne), the vocalist Ray Gillen (Black Sabbath) and the drummer Eric Singer (Black Sabbath, in the future Kiss and Alice Cooper). THE BadlandsUnfortunately, it failed to succeed with the two albums produced while the project existed – the excellent homonymous debut of 1989 and also great Voodoo Highway (1991) – but it is still strange not to have this material available on streaming. The fact that Gillen died in 1993 and Lee is somewhat reclusive, definitely does not help in any negotiations.
Interestingly, the group’s third and last album, Dusk (1998), can be heard on the platform. The compile record gave that they would give rise to a album before the band dissolves in the midst of fights between Ray and Jake. He has reached public, Pony Canyon, instead of Atlantic Records, which can justify his presence.
Stone Temple Pilots with Chester Bennington – High Rise (2013)
Okay, this is not an album, but an EP. Still, it is worth the record. In the early 2010, the giant grunge instrumentalists Stone Temple Pilots brought Chester Benningtonvocalist of Linkin Parkto replace the newly finished Scott Weiland. The partnership yielded the EP High Risewith five tracks that explored, in particular, a different side of Bennignton’s voice, naked here from their famous shouts to focus on more melodic lines. The material reached 21st place in the American chart and yielded good criticism, but for some reason it was taken from streaming for years, without return.
Jim Capaldi – Fierce Heart (1983)
The long solo discography of Jim Capaldilate drummer and member of the rock and roll Hall of Fame who played with Traffic, Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, George Harrison And several others, includes a series of relatively experimental works. One of them, Fierce Heart (1983), it is not available on Spotify – and incredible as it may seem, it is among its best known albums. In this record, there is a strong presence of use of synthesizers and collaboration of Steve Winwoodformer Traffic partner, in most tracks. One of its singles, “That’s Love”he won music video and reached 28th in the American parade.
Tesla – The Great Radio Controversy (1989)
What is the sense of keeping out of Spotify the most famous album of a band, responsible for selling more than 2 million copies in the United States? No one knows. All discography of Teslahard rock group formed in California, but far from the excesses of Los Angeles, can be accessed by Spotify, except The Great Radio Controversy (1989). The band’s second work brings songs like “Heaven’s Trail (no way out)”, “Hang Togh”, “The Way It Is” and especially “Love Song”its largest hit, responsible for reaching 10th place in the American parade and only compact of the quintet to obtain gold certification, by the 500 thousand units sold.
The Scream – Let It Scream (1991)
The album that put the vocalist and guitarist John Corabi node Mötley Crüe It must have some quality, isn’t it? And there is a lot. Let it screamthe project’s only album, also united the skillful Bruce Bouillet (guitar) and Juan Alderete (low), newly sought from the Racer Xin addition to Walt Woodward III (Shark Island), who happened to occupy the vacancy left by… Scott Travislinked after the Judas Priest and credited by the albums mentioned in item 1 of this list. Guided by Corabi’s torn voice, the group explores blues, country and even wind instruments under a still heavy aesthetic. He has been to Spotify, but he left for years without return for return.
Steve Gaines – One in the Sun (1988)
Steve Gaines was one of the three members of the Lynyrd Skynyrd killed in the plane crash suffered by the band in 1977. With the Southern Rock group, he recorded in studio only Street Survivors (1977), but years earlier it was already standing out in a solo career that, at least during its 28 years of life, did not yield a record. In 1988, the MCA label made available a series of records made by him in 1975, alongside a band called Crawdadunder the title One in the Sun. The result is formidable: unit Blues, Southern Rock and a strong and emotional sense of composition. You just can’t depend on Spotify to listen, as the record has been unavailable for a long time.
