Presentation at Casa Rockambol, last Saturday, 19, concluded the tour to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the artist’s most coherent album
*Originally published in no degree || At a given moment of your show a Rockambol HouseIn San Paolo, last Saturday, 19, Esteban Tavares promoted an autophase by recognizing it La muerte de tu life (2015), his second solo album whose tenth anniversary won a tour on tour, was born “under pressure”. When he announced at the time a crowdfunding project to make the album practicable, only two of his 13 songs were ready. “It seems that he worked”He is done.
There was a base on the pat on the back. At that point, the singer, songwriter and guitarist had already made practically all those present singing the sharp verses of the songs such as “January”, “To be” AND “Chacarera da Saudade”. Camaqué’s Gaucho knew that the night in fascinating and full (but not crowded) Rockamobe House, responsible for the completion of the aforementioned commemorative tour of the album, was only another chapter of a synergistic relationship with his audience – the same as a decade before, allowed him to do it La muerte de tu life be made. Before, the artist had already recognized: if he hadn’t been for fans, he wouldn’t even have a budget to record the material.
The 2015 album was the second step of a solo career which, for reasons difficult to explain, was relegated to underground – a space very different from the one occupied two decades ago by FresnoThe gang that brought Esteban as a bassist and supporter of the support between 2006 and 2012. One of the reasons for the reduced recognition can, precisely, reside, betting on a much more diversified sound than that explored by his former group, one of the Balules of Brazilian Emocore. In the solo catalog, the musician also passes through the emo to the melancholy blues, almost always in more cadenced rhythms, and splashes complementary references that pass from Milonga, from the presence of accordion (or harmonious, as they call it in the south) as a complement and not a protagonist, even more alternative/indie genres, noted in “What comes” From the punctual use of more loaded guitar effects and also slightly pop beats.
It works, while he himself recognized on stage. Both for the celebration itself and for the recognition of the strength of the Onorato album, Tavares offered the public from San Paolo a repertoire with almost full execution of La muerte de tu life. Ten of the 13 tracks of thematically vulnerable work – and deeply consistent – 2015 entered the setlist; “January”It is said, it has still been taken up at the end of the exclusive set of the album. Of this section, it has distinguished itself:
- The aforementioned Emo-Blu “Chacarera da Saudade”with the protagonist who flies to the land in his Stratocaster on the flames Clara;
- “Tuesday can be reversed”Probably the song that aroused the most enthusiastic reactions of the public;
- AND “Letter to the disinterested”Of more direct lyricism and until then the fourth track to refer to cigarettes and the act of smoking (by means of curiosity, there was a fifth mention in “Monday” after).
Pending his second solo album, Esteban shared the rest of the time established in two moments. First of all, he played a couple of even more melancholy songs – “Berlin Nights” AND “World”this original from April. Then he reported the competent band formed by Wysrah Moraes (bass; curiously touching with a broken right arm), Rodrigo Veiga (keyboards and accordion) e Eduardo Machado (battery) for a more targeted closure Esteban ADI! (2012), your first album away from the group. If not in a message, at least in the sound there is a more lover proposal in “Sophia”, “Monday” AND “Pianinho”. Closing with “I hear a lot of blues” had harmonica (mouth) assumed by the guest César leaveGaucho musician responsible for the competent but memorable opening presentation.
Take up again La muerte de tu life For a live celebration it sounded beyond the simple nostalgic movement. He served to show how Esteban evolved as a composer and performer and, in particular, the impact of his work by Fresno on a limited but faithful entourage of fans. Maybe you have to reach a different audience, since the Rockambol show at home clearly deserved to have been seen by several people. However, referenced “Letter to the disinterested”I will not be the rude educated who wants to educate the artist.
