Alan Niven reveals aspects in which the former guitarist was crucial to the success of the American band – musician left the formation in 1991
“Izzy was the band’s crucial creative element from my perspective. He had an urban vernacular so impeccable that he incorporated into his lyrics. And I always envied that.”

“I loved the trickster way he wrote the lyrics and shaped them inside that language. Great composer and an insane loss to the band. What did we earn after Izzy is gone? A solo album from Axl Rose, and only that since 1991.”
Izzy Stradlin, by Alan Niven
“Izzy was the only one I could have confidence on a position in a decision – his point of view was always undeniable and worked better for the whole group. He put them on the floor with his impeccably rock’n’roll posture, usually kept in his way of touching and composing. Guns n ‘Roses. “
Outside the GN’R, Stradlin developed a productive solo career until the late 2000s. At a given moment, he played practically one album a year. The last was Wave of Heatin 2010. Then, nothing else was done.
He even participated in a concert of his former group in 2012. It was the final presentation of the musician so far.
