Heavy Metal’s English band published a statement last week with curious information about the next steps of his career

As much as it has a tour announced, the Iron Maiden It has raised questions from some fans about their future. What will the band next year look like? Do they return to Brazil? With retirement of Nicko McBrainis there any planning to close activities?

A statement issued by the group last week answers some of these questions. Member interviews also address certain issues.

Remember: Maiden has traveled the globe with the commemorative tour RUN FOR YOU LIVES. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the band’s foundation, the excursion features thematic repertoire, focused only on the first nine albums – from 1980 to Fear of the Dark (1992).

Check it out below!

5 discoveries about the future of Iron Maiden

1) 2026 with many shows – including Brazil

Those who were in doubt about the Iron Maiden agenda in 2026 can rest easy. The idea is that the group will spend most of the year on the road.

THE RUN FOR YOU LIVES It began last May, in Europe, where it stretched until August. Last week, the musicians announced an extension of the agenda on the old continent, with more dates between May and July 2026.

However, the itinerary will not be restricted to the European continent. The idea is to bring the show to other regions that have not been visited so far, such as North and South America. According to the statement, “many other parts of the world” will be confirmed soon.

Brazil, of course, must be on the route. In interview to TV Globo, the vocalist Bruce Dickinson – who visited us earlier this month to perform solo at the Paulistano Festival The Town – guaranteed:

“Next year, they can wait: we’ll go back to South America. I can’t say when, but we’ll come back.”

The idea is that the group returns to the country in the second half of 2026.

2) Simon Dawson follows the band

When he confirmed Nicko McBain’s retirement from the stage, Iron Maiden revealed that his longstanding drummer, a member since the end of 1982, would continue in training – would only cease to tour with his colleagues. Simon Dawson (British Lion, The Outfield) was announced “for the year 2025”, without being guaranteed permanence.

At least compared to 2026, fans should wait for Dawson’s return. According to the bassist and leader Steve Harristhe drummer is kept for next year’s shows.

“We are all loving the Run For Your Lives tour. Fans have been amazing, the repertoire is perfect for the 50th birthday, the show is arguably the best of all time and the demand for tickets was amazing, with tickets sold out everywhere and more than one million fans present. So we thought of doing some more shows in Europe before going to other parts of the world at the end of the year. Dawson will join us once again as a drummer, and both he and the whole band would like to thank our fans for the fantastic reception you gave to him in the first part. ”

3) No shows in 2027

If next year will have full schedule for Iron Maiden, do not expect the same compared to 2027. Rod Smallwood, the group’s longtime entrepreneur, revealed that the agenda will be reset after the end of 2026, with the end of final commitments.

“For all our fans outside Europe, we don’t definitely not forget you. We have some great ads coming to 2026 later. Be sure we’ll visit you as much as possible next year before the band takes a deserved road break in 2027.”

The period will even be used by Bruce Dickinson to release his next solo album. The singer should also perform shows spreading the material.

4) New DVD will be recorded

It is a tradition for Iron Maiden to record live work of its tours. For example, the most recent record, Nights of the Dead, Legacy of the Beast: Live In Mexico City (2020), captures the previous tour, Legacy of the Beast.

This time, the public was assured that the tour RUN FOR YOU LIVES It will also gain a record, not only in audio, but also in video. The recordings will take place in Paris on June 22, 2026. Rod Smallwood comments:

“The fans will also notice that we will play again at Paris La Défense Arena on a Monday, June 22, after we have already touched two nights with tickets sold out this year, for 75 thousand fans… but there is a good reason for that! We know that you were asking, so let’s shoot this special show for you and the posterity! So, we decided to go back to Paris and hope that fans there still want to see us! This will be our 31st show in Paris, has always been a special show since we visited the place for the first time with Kiss in 1980! ”

The businessman revealed that the use of cell phones will be prohibited in this presentation. Throughout the tour, the band has recommended that fans do not use the devices, but in this case there will be a partnership with Yondr to restrict smartphones completely.

“It was really special to see that the vast majority of our fans enjoyed and respected our request to severely limit the use of mobile phones in our shows, ideally keeping them only in their pockets all the time, especially in the standing areas in front of the stage. […] Although we encourage our fans to follow this example again, specifically in Paris we will work with Yondr, a company that creates mobile -free spaces, where fans will receive a safe paddle bag that allows you to keep your phone with you all the time. They will make this process easier for your benefit, our wonderful fans, and I’m sure, like all of us, you won’t want to watch the resulting recording with various cell phone screens on the scene. Therefore, to help our filming team, we will leave the huge Hall of La Defense completely free of mobile phones to ensure that the show – and of course all of you in the audience – seem as phenomenal as possible to the cameras! ”

5) There are no plans to end

Reaching 50 years of foundation, Iron Maiden could be planning to end the activities. There are those who consider that Senjutsu (2022) would be the final album and the RUN FOR YOU LIVESthe last tour. However, at least according to the members, there is no desire to stop.

In an interview from 2024 to Music Radar (via Igor Miranda website), Steve Harris stated:

“It’s amazing that this band exists 50 years ago. When you really think about it, it’s insane. How many songs have we made, how many albums, how many tours… it’s very crazy. And it’s fantastic to see so many young people in the audience now. […] I love to play with both bands – Maiden and British Lion – because I like to keep busy. I’m always doing something. When living in Bahamas, I thought this could help me relax a little. And that made me relax a little. But as soon as I get home, I’m already thinking about the next tour. And that’s great, because that’s what I love to do. ”
