Hollywood star Diane Keaton died at the age of 79 and the cause of death was revealed this Wednesday by the actress’ family
The cause of death of the Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton (Neurotic Groom, Nervous Bride) was finally revealed. According to the magazine Peoplethe 79-year-old artist passed away on October 11th as a result of pneumoniaaccording to a statement released by his family. In the note, family members thanked “the extraordinary messages of love and support” received since the death announcement.
When Keaton’s death was confirmed last Saturday, details about the cause had not yet been released. According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, a team was called at 8:08 am to respond to a medical call at the actress’ home, located in Brentwood, and took the patient to the hospital.
A source told People on October 11th that the health of Keaton “deteriorated very suddenly, which was devastating for everyone who loved her”. His death “fhi totally unexpected,” the source added, “especially for someone with so much strength and spirit.”In her final months, she was surrounded only by her closest family, who chose to keep everything completely private. Even longtime friends weren’t fully aware of what was going on,” the source said.
Keatonborn and raised in Los Angeles, began her acting and singing career at Santa Ana High School, where she starred as Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire. After studying acting at the Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, Keaton was cast as a replacement for the role of Sheila in the original Broadway production of Hair in 1968. The following year, she starred in the comedy play Woody Allen, Play it Again, Samwhich earned him a nomination for Tony Award of Best Supporting Actress in a Play.
The actress went on to appear in several films, including The Thousand Faces of Love, which marked his screen debut. Francis Ford Coppola noticed her performance in the film and cast her in his award-winning film Oscar 1972, The Godfatherlike Kay Adamsthe girlfriend and eventual wife of Michael Corleoneplayed by Al Pacino.
