The artist participated in the band in the 70s
Donna Jean Godchaux-MacKaysinger of the band Died Grateful in the 1970s, died last Sunday, 2, at age 78 after battling cancer.
The information was confirmed by Varietywho said she died in Nashville, United States.
“She was a sweet person, with a warm and beautiful spirit, and all who knew her are united in her loss. The family requests privacy in this time of mourning,” read a statement accessed by the vehicle.
She began her career as a backing vocalist at the Muscle Shoals studio. He participated Suspicious mindsfrom 1969, with Elvis Presley.
Donna married Keith Godchaux in 1970, and the two joined the Grateful Dead after meeting Jerry Garcia. Keith died in an accident in 1980, around the same time she decided to put her music career on hold.
In the 1980s, Donna married bassist David MacKay, with whom she remained until his death.
She is survived by her husband, her children, Kinsman MacKay, Zion Godchaux and her grandson Delta.
