Singer Supla has released a “punk” version of “As It Was”, a recent hit by Britain’s Harry Styles. Quotes are mandatory, because the cover is much more influenced by The Strokes than by the Sex Pistols.
Supla even posted the song on her Twitter, saying she recorded it “just for fun”. But the success of the post, which totaled almost 15 thousand likes, seems to have convinced the artist to invest in her promotion, with the right to the video.
The track has a basic clip, recorded in a recording studio, showing the singer and musicians playing their – in fact – good version.
“As It Was” is expected to be part of a cover project, which Supla has recorded with his band, Os Punks de Boutique, and which has no premiere date yet. The list of released versions includes even more curious options, such as songs by Nina Simone and Simon & Garfunkel.
