The singer’s concerts will take place on April 20 in Sao Paulo and on April 24 in Curitiba.
In 2023 the British Joss Stone will celebrate 20 years of international career. Part of that legacy now returns to the stage for a commemorative tour of the singer, five times Grammy nominated and awarded in 2007. The “20 Years of Soul” tour will launch in February, Germany, and will arrive in Brazil in April, with two shows: the first on the 20th, in San Paolo, at the Vibra, and the second on the 24th, in Curitiba, at the Teatro Positivo.
Since leaving her hometown of Devon, UK, to climb to the top of the charts around the world with her debut album, “The Soul Sessions”, in 2003, at just 15, the singer, songwriter and actress has created a powerful catalog of songs, a colorful tapestry that combines her powerful vocal soul with many influences such as reggae, world music and hip hop.
With eight albums released in 16 years, Joss has not only grown artistically, but has also developed a keen sense of where her musical career is focused. While maintaining the company of the royals of music, she performing alongside revered artists such as James Brown, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Sting, Van Morrison and Melissa Etheridge, to name a few.
His latest album, “Never Forget My Love”, released in February 2022, is no exception. Written and produced with his longtime friend and collaborator, Dave Stewart (Eurythmics), it is an album of “adult and timeless songs” written with the intent and poise found in early American classical composers.
“Think Dusty Springfield, Burt Bacharach, Dionne Warwick – that kind of timeless song,” explains Joss. “I suddenly realized that I don’t have to fight all the time to be the artist I want to be: just do what you love and it will work on its own,” he says.
The year 2022, by the way, was already full of celebrations for Joss. In addition to her new album, she has performed in major festivals such as Jardin Pedralbes (Barcelona), Stadtpark (Hamburg), Soul Live (Holland) and Umbria Jazz (Italy), she released her first Christmas album (“Merry Christmas, Love “) and celebrates the arrival of her second child.
