2023 opens up to the new generations of Brazilian music

Names like Zé Ibarra, Luedji Luna, Jota.pê and Gilson are preparing new works for next year

“Am I talking too much?” asks the singer, songwriter and arranger Ze Ibarra during his interview with Stadium🇧🇷 “But I’m passionate about Brazilian music. It’s a cultural miracle on the planet. My eyes sparkle,” he continues.

Clare X Sofia

The mining duo formed by singers Clara Câmpara and Sofia Lopes, who have already performed in countries such as Portugal, Uruguay and Spain, will open five shows of the British band Coldplay in March 2023, in the cities of Rio de Janeiro and Curitiba.

Released in August this year, the duo’s first album, Nada Disso é Pra Você, gained prominence on digital platforms with a genre they define as “bubblegum chic”.

Gilson

The trio, formed by Francisco, João and José Gil, respectively grandsons and son of Gilberto Gil, conquered the public with songs such as Many Queixas and Love Love from 2019. This year they released the album Pra Gente Acordar – which was nominated for a Latin Grammy – and they were on stage at Rock in Rio.

One of the first engagements of 2023 will be to open the show for the American singer Erykah Badu, in São Paulo. They will also be together with Gil on Nós, a Gente tour.

Jota.Pê

A former participant of The Voice, the singer from São Paulo, despite having already released singles, is known for his work in the duo Àvuà, alongside Bruna Black.

Linked to MPB, he will release his first solo work in the first half of 2023. The album will be produced by Marcus Preto, a producer who has worked with names such as Gal Costa, Erasmo Carlos, Tom Zé and Alaíde Costa.

Luedji Luna

Born in the city of Salvador, the singer-songwriter recently released her second album, BMDA deluxe, with 13 tracks, ten of which are unreleased. The work involved collaborations with American music producer John Key, rapper Oddisee, Cape Verdean singer Mayra Andrade and Brazilian Linn da Quebrada.

In January, Luedji will share the stage with Ivete Sangalo at the Salvador Summer Festival, in a highly anticipated meeting that will unite the singer’s afro pop with Ivete’s explosion of axé pop.

rubel

The singer from Rio de Janeiro is preparing the successor to the Casas album, released in 2020, which should be a double and will be released in the first half of 2023.

A constant presence at festivals, Rubel was alongside Gal Costa at the singer’s last show, in September, at the Coala Festival. The singer also recorded the single Baby with Gal, which earned him great exposure.
