Netflix has confirmed a premiere date and released the first trailer for a feature film continuing the story of "Call My Agent!" (originally titled "Dix pour cent"), the French comedy series that ran for four seasons. "Call My Agent! The Movie" arrives on Netflix on September 10, picking up the story after the closure of the fictional talent agency ASK.
"Call My Agent!" followed the agents of the ASK artistic agency and their unconventional methods for representing some of French cinema's biggest stars, as characters including Andréa, Gabriel, Mathias, Noémie and Hervé juggled professional crises and personal drama while trying to keep the business afloat. The series is not currently available in Spain, though it remains one of the most acclaimed comedies in French television in recent years.
New chapter for Andréa
The film arrives five years after the series ended and brings back its original cast for a new story. It is directed by Emilie Noblet, with a screenplay by Fanny Herrero, the creator of the original series, and Lison Daniel, keeping much of the creative team behind the show involved in its follow-up.
The plot centers on Andréa, again played by Camille Cottin, who has left her career as an agent behind to direct her first film. The project quickly runs into trouble when its lead actor walks off the set to take a role in a Wes Anderson film, leaving Andréa to also clash with her producer.
A reunion of former colleagues
To try to save the production, Andréa turns to Noémie, played by Laure Calamy, who has since become a successful reality TV producer. Matters get even messier with a complete cast overhaul, a string of disasters during filming, and a legal battle threatening Andréa's custody of her daughter, all of which draws the former ASK staff back together.
Clooney and the rest of the cast
The film brings back Thibault de Montalembert, Gregory Montel, Nicolas Maury, Fanny Sidney, Liliane Rovere and Ophelia Kolb from the original series. New additions and guest appearances include Laetitia Casta, Vincent Macaigne, Anne Marivin and Laurent Lafitte.
Netflix has also kept a few notable names under wraps until now. George Clooney will make a cameo appearance, though he does not feature in the trailer released so far. Eva Longoria will also appear in the film, playing a producer.
