It gives prominence to well-known characters, such as the matriarch or her painter daughter, an artist as enthusiastic as it is impossible, and gives them an opportunity to shine with unexpected subplots. She explores new comedic opportunities offered by others, and ushers in the clan’s international in-laws.
The clash between cultures acquires a new humorous dimension when it is played by mature people. It maintains its spirit of caricaturing stereotypes and prejudices about nationalities, races and religions. It touches different strings of humor and even creates hilarious gags close to the slapstick taking advantage of a romantic and innocent balloon ride in charge of a very peculiar ex-military. There is no lack of a wink of female vindication by the five nightlife mothers-in-law. It summarizes the best tradition of French comedy cinema in just over an hour and a half in which to laugh and forget about the vicissitudes of daily life.
