Samsung TV Plus has reorganised its channel offering in Spain by introducing five new channels, renumbering existing stations, changing several network names, and removing one station from its catalogue.
The platform strengthened its children, entertainment, comedy, fiction, and crime categories through the update. Among the new arrivals, comedy service LOL España has debuted on dial 4155, while animated series network Inazuma Eleven has joined on dial 4196. Crime drama channel Los asesinatos de Midsomer is now available on dial 4295. Children's programming has also been expanded with Pitufo TV on dial 4773 and Teletubbies on dial 4782.
Alongside the new arrivals, one network has exited the lineup. Sony One Series Thriller, which previously occupied dial 4250, has been removed from the platform's free catalogue.
The reorganization has also brought significant repositioning across existing channel numbers. Public broadcaster network RTVE La Moderna has moved from dial 4236 to dial 4002, while RTVE Cocina shifted from dial 4003 to dial 4518, and main channel La 1 relocated from dial 4001 to dial 4007. In one of the most prominent shifts on the guide, FreeTV Clásico jumped from dial 4940 to take the top slot at dial 4001. Meanwhile, Historia y Vida shifted from dial 4416 to dial 4003, prompting Moviesphere to vacate dial 4002 and move to dial 4880.
Renamed networks and guide reorganisations
Several channel names within the electronic programme guide have also been updated, according to information published on the MundoPlusTV website. Korean drama service Coreano by CJ ENM on dial 4222 has been renamed CJ ENM K-Novela en Español, while music channel K-POP by CJ ENM on dial 4750 has adopted the name CJ ENM K-POP. Travel channel GoUSA TV has changed its name to Journy TV while remaining at dial 4515.
Following these structural changes, the top section of the Samsung TV Plus guide in Spain is now anchored by FreeTV Clásico at dial 4001, RTVE La Moderna at dial 4002, Historia y Vida at dial 4003, and La 1 at dial 4007.
The reshuffle highlights the evolving nature of free ad-supported streaming television services, commonly known as FAST platforms. Unlike traditional subscription video-on-demand services that charge monthly fees, FAST networks provide linear television channels that are funded entirely through advertising.
The FAST model and Samsung TV Plus in Spain
Samsung TV Plus currently carries more than 120 free channels in Spain. Its catalogue spans news, sports, entertainment, movies, music, and children's shows, alongside on-demand titles and original productions.
The platform comes pre-installed on compatible Samsung Smart TVs and does not require users to pay an additional subscription fee. Samsung noted that the service has been available free of charge on its televisions since 2016, though specific channel lineups can vary depending on the device and country market.
Samsung stated that it regularly updates the platform's electronic guide, adding, removing, or reordering channels as content agreements with media providers continue to evolve.
