Thirty young Dominican musicians will take the stage at the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito on Saturday, August 29, for "Sinfónico 2026: Encuentro de Talento," a concert organized by Fundación Harmonía, the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito and SeaBoard Energía Limpia.
The performance is set for 8:30 p.m. in the theater's Sala Carlos Piantini, with general admission tickets priced at 500 pesos.

The concert marks the second edition of the encounter, which brings together 30 young Dominican musicians from different academies, state institutions and music training spaces across the country. Organizers said the initiative aims to contribute to the development of symphonic art in the Dominican Republic and to create a space for young instrumentalists.
Workshop and educational support
Beyond the concert itself, the initiative includes a workshop in which the young instrumentalists work together to prepare the selected pieces. Participants will receive an educational stipend sponsored by SeaBoard Energía Limpia in support of their involvement in the project.

Who is leading the project
The workshop and concert are being directed by Ángel Herdz, a composer, choral conductor and symphony orchestra conductor who graduated from the Conservatorio de Música de Puerto Rico and from Venezuela's Sistema de Orquestas y Coros. Herdz is also the director and founder of the Coro Nacional de Niños Dominicanos and of the Programa Coral Canta y Toca, projects that recently marked ten uninterrupted years of musical work and that, according to information provided, have reached more than 3,000 children and young people through choral training in the country.
The repertoire
The program for "Sinfónico 2026" includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, John Rutter, Ángel Herdz, Astor Piazzolla and Henry Purcell.

The performance will also feature soloists Sam Lizardo and Esmeralda Núñez, both violinists, who will share the stage with the 30 young instrumentalists taking part in the encounter.
Organizers said the project seeks to showcase a new generation of Dominican musicians and give them the opportunity to perform works by great composers within a professional setting such as the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito. They described it as more than a concert, calling it a process of encounter and learning among young people from different institutions and their music teachers, intended to strengthen their development at an important stage of their training.
A joint initiative
The Encuentro de Talento is part of a joint initiative by Fundación Harmonía, the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito and SeaBoard Energía Limpia to support the development of symphonic music and give greater visibility to young Dominican talent.
The concert is scheduled for Saturday, August 29, at 8:30 p.m., in the Sala Carlos Piantini of the Teatro Nacional Eduardo Brito, with general admission available for 500 pesos.
