Spider-Man: Brand New Day has reached $1.67 billion in worldwide box office revenue after 12 days in theaters. The superhero film earned $655 million in the United States by the end of its second weekend, remaining the top movie on local charts ahead of Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey.
The movie recorded the third-highest second-weekend earnings in American box office history, trailing only Avengers: Endgame at $147 million and Star Wars: The Force Awakens at $149 million. It has already joined the top four highest-grossing Marvel Cinematic Universe films and continues to earn at a rapid pace. The film is expected to pass $2 billion in the coming days, overtaking Spider-Man: No Way Home, which grossed $1.95 billion, while setting additional box office records.
Plot details and release dates
Spider-Man: Brand New Day follows a new chapter in the life of Peter Parker, set four years after the events of No Way Home. The friendly neighborhood hero protects New York from crime while his loved ones no longer remember he exists. A new spree of crimes across the city brings out one of the most dangerous opponents Peter has ever faced.
The film will have its unofficial premiere in Russia on August 20.
