French singer and content creator Styleto has joined the talent show The Voice Kids for its twelfth season on French television network TF1.
The 28-year-old artist makes her debut on the series this Saturday at 9:10 pm in a specialized backstage role designed to welcome and support young contestants immediately before they step onto the studio set.
She is neither a coach nor a main presenter for the singing competition. Instead, she was recruited to act as a dream big sister for the children, according to Rémi Faure, the director of unscripted programming at network TF1.
Styleto admitted that she initially entered the production with confidence, expecting that guiding the children would come naturally to her. However, she revealed that she broke into tears during the very first contestant's performance, quickly realizing she needed to pull herself together.
Handling the young singers presented immediate practical challenges behind the scenes. Styleto explained that when contestants mentioned feeling scared, she felt a desire to express understanding but was forced to absorb their nervousness instead. She noted that some very young children were so excited to be present that they kept looking at studio cameras and monitor screens, requiring effort to focus their attention. She described the experience as fantastic and praised all the participants as remarkably brave.
Backstage Guidance and Production Praise
The role required working without a teleprompter or scripted safety net. Faure pointed out that reassuring children and helping them keep the competition in perspective is a difficult task. He commended Styleto for relying on her natural spontaneity and a mastery of social media and YouTube communication that speaks directly to younger audiences.
Production executives and show presenters praised her performance across the board. Television presenter Nikos Aliagas, who previously hosted Styleto on the reality talent show Star Academy, praised her talent and perceptiveness. He noted that she observes and feels everything without playing an artificial role on camera.
Pascal Guix, a producer at production company ITV Studios France, highlighted the mutual affection between Styleto and the young performers. He stated that her fresh perspective and guidance added significant value to the broadcast, revealing that post-production editors on the show quickly became fond of cutting her backstage segments.
Artistic Freedom and Career History
Styleto acknowledged having initial concerns about potential creative restrictions before filming began. She confirmed that production gave her carte blanche to be herself and use humor freely. Speaking as an artist, she expressed immense happiness at participating in the season and described the human experience as incredible.
Approaching the children as a fellow musician, Styleto offered advice she wished she had received before her own early concerts. She shared physical movement techniques to manage stress and expressed admiration for their vocal abilities, noting that some young contestants possessed perfect pitch or superior technical skills.
She also reflected on the contrast between the young contestants and her own childhood. She recalled writing in her diary at age ten that her dream job was to become a singer, as she previously disclosed to French newspaper 20 Minutes. However, she admitted she would have been far too frightened at ten years old to perform on television in hopes of turning revolving red chairs, noting that her own first stage performance only took place at age 27.
A member of Generation Z, Styleto first launched her career on YouTube in 2013 by posting daily video vlogs and song covers before transitioning into original music recording. She released her debut album, Fille lacrymale, in 2025, followed by the EP La fille qui a plus mal in March 2026. In January 2026, she also joined the roster of Les Enfoirés, France's long-running charity musical troupe.
