Fourteen-year-old Lila Debbouze, daughter of French comedian Jamel Debbouze and journalist Mélissa Theuriau, will take part in the blind auditions for Season 12 of The Voice Kids on French television network TF1. The new series launches on Saturday at 9:10 pm, featuring 60 young performers competing for a place in the show.
While her older brother Léon chose to pursue football, Debbouze has focused on the performing arts. She attends the École Rognoni in the 5th arrondissement of Paris, a public school providing tailored timetables for students preparing for careers in the arts.
According to reports by Télé Loisirs, she is also refining her skills in singing, dancing, and drama at the West Child School. The Voice Kids, broadcast on major French commercial network TF1, relies on blind auditions where celebrity coaches sit with their backs turned to contestants, spinning their chairs around only if they decide to mentor a performer.
Training and stage experience
Debbouze already has several stage credits to her name. In 2023, she landed a role in the musical Holidays at the Théâtre de l'Alhambra in Paris after auditioning under a false name to avoid relying on her family background.
She went on to play Juliette in the production West Child Story in 2025. She also appeared in Le Temps des femmes, a documentary on French public channel France 2 produced by her mother, Mélissa Theuriau, who is a prominent documentary maker and former news presenter.
Musical ambitions
Her father, Jamel Debbouze, a prominent actor and comedian known for his roles in French film classics and for establishing the Jamel Comedy Club, spoke about her aspirations during a France Inter radio interview in July. He said his daughter wanted to be like French singer and actress Louane, performing in musical theatre while singing and dancing.
Louane Emera herself rose to fame after appearing on the main version of The Voice in France before establishing a successful career in music and cinema. Viewers will see whether coaches Soprano, Patrick Fiori, Santa, M. Pokora, or Styleto turn their chairs during Saturday's broadcast.
